adidas x Fear of God – first collection coming soon

It has been known since the end of 2020 that Jerry Lorenzo will leave Nike and join forces with adidas . And everyone agrees, that makes sense. Fear of God takes on the basketball division of adidas. Since then, the two brands have been working together on the adidas x Fear of God collection. Which is listed as "Athletics" on FOG itself and can be bought here in Germany, unlike "Essentials" (yay). After more than two years of waiting, the first collection of the two brands was shown in Hollywood on April 19th.

Among the spectators was Kanye West. Who left a huge (financial) hole at adidas. Since then, some have speculated that Lorenzo should fill this hole. We understand the thought as FOG parts have always had a certain resemblance to YEEZY. On the other hand, adidas and Fear of God's Athletics line was in the works long before Ye decided to blame Jewish people for his problems. That's why it's rather unlikely for us that the focus of the sub-label will adapt strongly to YEEZY. Lorenzo will do his own thing, we're sure.

THIS IS WHAT THE FOG ATHLETICS COLLECTION LOOKS LIKE

The first sneak preview of the adidas x Fear of God collection came in early 2022. A yellowish hoodie with blue co-branding was shown for the first time at a festival in Shanghai. Malicious tongues claimed it was just a boring co-branded hoodie. We see it differently. Aside from the big logos, the relaxed, relaxed cut stands out, a Lorenzo trademark. In addition, the "adidas" logo is a tribute to history. The retro logo comes from an influential twenty-year period in the history of the three stripes. It was used by the performance division from 1950 to 1971. And of course the hoodie gives us ESSENTIALS vibes. You can't go wrong with casual, oversized sweaters. At the runway show in April, however, the pieces looked completely different again. The adidas x Fear of God Athletics line was shown alongside the FOG main collection.

The Athletics pieces blend seamlessly with the bouclé wool coats, cashmere sweaters and washed leather pants. This suggests that adidas x Fear of God Athletics is going to be something more luxurious than a typical adidas partnership. Some of the parts also remind us of the last, super good, adidas One Basketball collection. Apparently Lorenzo also changed the adidas -Performance logo. Instead of the three diagonal stripes of different sizes, we see three vertical stripes of the same size. We are excited to see the first pure product images and look forward to working with you. And most importantly, how expensive the parts will be. Check out the pictures below.
