adidas Yeezy Calabasas Powerphase - first look

Kanye teased the adidas Calabasas Powerphase last September. If the rumors of the last few weeks are to be believed, the shoe will also be released in the coming months. The price is said to be a slim €120. That sounds pretty good compared to the previous Yeezy models, but this time no Boost material was used for the sole construction. There is certainly also the question of whether the adidas Calabasas Powerphase will be highly limited or relatively freely available. Unfortunately, there's no information on this at the moment, but I don't think we should assume that it's an "easy cop". The Powerphase silhouette reminds me of those typical "dad sneakers" that older men like to wear for gardening. I'm also pretty sure that I've spotted these (or very similar) models on the bargain bins of various discount stores. :) However, the Calabasas release could change that in a flash. Personally, I really like the idea of focusing more on old silhouettes. As I'm a fan of retro and the ZX series anyway, I'm pleased that Kanye is now slipping more and more into the retro/vintage scene. Fittingly, we're also just waiting for a release date for the Yeezy Runner. In addition to the shoe, there will also be a Calabasas collection, which includes an extremely fresh pair of joggers, for example, and for anyone wondering where the name "Calabasas" comes from, I can only say: fire up Google Maps and search. Maybe you'll find the neighborhood outside of L.A... ;-)
