SNEAKER LOVERS WATCH OUT - Louis Vuitton is launching the "White Canvas: LV Trainer in Residence" project in 2024, collaborating with renowned Chinese artists Zhou Yilun and Wen Na. The iconic LV Trainer, originally presented in 2019, will become a canvas for creative reinterpretations. Following its success in Milan 2023, the collection will find its way to sneaker fans from September 23, 2024 in selected Louis Vuitton stores in China and from December 1 in Paris, Galeries Lafayette. Louis Vuitton "White Canvas LV Trainer" - the collection

The LV Trainer, known for its combination of basketball design and Louis Vuitton's unmistakable luxury craftsmanship, is an integral part of the brand's menswear collections. For the "White Canvas" project, the artists have transformed the model into true works of art.

  • Zhou Yilun: The artist breaks with the conventional design language of the sneaker. His designs appear deliberately unfinished, as if they were still in the creative process. The flowing pigments and color gradients suggest movement, while the handmade logo made of plasticine gives the shoe a touch of playfulness. With his "42.5°C" (orange/black) and "-8.6°C" (pink/blue) models, Zhou subtly addresses climate change, creating not only wearable art but also a statement. Each shoe is painted and manufactured by hand in the Fiesso d'Artico workshop in Italy.

  • Wen Na: With the "Wave" and "Cloud" models, Wen Na takes up traditional Chinese art motifs. "Wave" is inspired by the dynamics of green waves and gives the shoes a sense of movement - one foot "steps" on the wave, the other lifts off. "Cloud" brings bright colors and playful deities into play and symbolizes freedom and leisure. Her designs are also artfully handcrafted in the Italian Fiesso d'Artico workshop.

Fun facts about the artists

  • Zhou Yilun: Zhou Yilun is known for reinterpreting everyday objects and challenging their relationship to form and function. His works have been exhibited in leading museums and galleries worldwide, including in Shanghai, Beijing, the USA and Europe.

  • Wen Na: The artist brings myths and legends of Chinese culture into her art. She has already left her mark with impressive murals in cities around the world, from Beijing to Europe.

Conclusion: Louis Vuitton once again combines luxury with art in this collection and offers sneaker enthusiasts not only stylish shoes, but also wearable works of art that combine history and creativity.
