Asics Gel Kayano Trainer - latest pickup

The Kayano was designed back in the 90s by Asics designer Toshikazu Kayano. The aim at the time was to develop a sports shoe that was suitable for both indoor and outdoor activities. Nature provided the inspiration for this, as Toshikazu Kayano took the characteristics of the stag beetle as a model when developing the Kayano:"Despite its stable, protective shell, it is agile and fast. Characteristics that runners also expect from a shoe. My shoe should be as sharp as the stag beetle's claws. That's why their image can also be found in the sole design of the Kayano." (Toshikazu Kayano) When you hold the Asics Gel Kayano Trainer in your hand for the first time, you immediately realize what the shoe was originally designed for. The Kayano was designed as a cross-trainer and is therefore not just a running shoe, but also suitable for other sports. This is particularly emphasized by the plastic skeleton (the protective shell), the pointed shape and the inner sock, and I particularly like the performance-oriented look of the Kayano. The silhouette is not wedge-shaped, but I really liked the upturned toebox of the Gel-Lyte V. I generally like a mix of performance and lifestyle and find it particularly successful in the Kayano. The upper of the Kayano is made of a coarse mesh and various synthetic materials - just right from a technical point of view! The midsole is made of EVA and is of course equipped with the famous GEL cushioning system. by the way, I personally relaced the Asics Gel Kayano Trainer a little and simply left the exoskeleton open. I wasn't sure how it would look at first, but after I had the Kayano on my feet for a few days, I really liked it. If you're interested in one of the two colorways, you'll definitely have luck at 43einhalb or Overkill. You should be a little careful with the size, because the Kayano seems very tight at first due to the inner sock. Personally, I wear the same size in the shoe as in the Gel Saga, and half a size smaller than in the Gel Lyte III, so it fits absolutely perfectly!
