BSTN x Real Madrid x adidas Rivalry Low 86 - Latest Pick-Up

BSTN continued their basketball heritage collection with adidas, this time with the BSTN x Real Madrid x adidas Rivalry Low 86, dedicated to the Real Madrid basketball team. @christopher has got himself a very special Rivalry Low and photographed it for you. Like all sneakers that we wear on the street today, they have their origins in basketball. The Rivalry came onto the market as a basketball shoe in the 80s. The 80s were tough for all brands that wanted to achieve more in basketball. Nike and adidas in particular engaged in a fierce competition. After Nike overtook adidas in the basketball market with Jordan, the German brand had to follow suit. That's why adidas teamed up with Patrick Ewing from 1986 onwards. The player had only just been drafted by the New York Knicks. Together with him came the adidas Conductor and the Rivalry. The adidas Rivalry Low Real Madrid from BSTN is a tribute to the royal team basketball team from Spain. Yes, you heard right, it pays tribute to the basketball team and not the soccer team. It comes in luxurious, cream-colored leather with rolled edges. The absolute highlight of the design: on the outer sides, a UV-reactive BSTN logo replaces the usual three stripes and turns purple like the Real Madrid crest when sunlight falls on it. Metal tips decorate the laces, while the heels feature an adidas logo with the word "Madrid". The Real Madrid logo is emblazoned on the tongue. The special box features eleven stars, one for each European title Real has won. Alongside the shoes is a limited edition 160-page coffee table book celebrating the Real Madrid basketball team, featuring original artwork and stories from current and former team members.
