If you check out the pictures of the classic Chuck 70's and the 70's Plus.

THE HISTORY OF THE CONVERSE ALL STAR

The first Converse basketball shoe came onto the market in 1917. Actually an unfavorable year for the beginning of the success story. World War I was still raging, and the devastating consequences of the Spanish Flu were imminent. And yet it was precisely this year that the Converse Chuck Taylor All Star made its debut, a basketball shoe that would later conquer the world of sneakers.

The Converse Rubber Company was founded in 1908 and initially produced everything that had to do with rubber. And at some point basketball shoes too. Which were initially only produced to keep Converse 's seasonal workers on the assembly line all year round. And then these shoes evolved into a fully realized basketball product line by about 1916. The name of the shoe is made up of three building blocks: Chuck Taylor, All Stars and Converse. Of course, Converse is the brand, "All Stars" means the Converse basketball team that existed at the time to advertise the shoes and Chuck Taylor was the seller of the shoes. He had such an immense impact that from 1934 his name was on the characteristic heel patch. The design was always changed a little, although never significantly.

In 1957, the low-top version of the shoe was introduced to give players more freedom of movement. In 1971 came the All Star, which we now know as the Converse Chuck 70's. Back then, multiple colorways came onto the market for the first time so that college teams could coordinate their colors with those of their school and fans could show their allegiance. Over time, the shoe became associated with individualism and countercultures, paving the way for the preferred choice of punks in the 1970s, metalheads in the 1980s and the grunge scene in the 1990s. To this day, Converse has remained true to the design of the 70s Chucks. In addition to the classic, further developed silhouette, you can still buy the All Star from 1971. And the silhouette also gets an update every now and then with more daring designs. For example, the Converse Chuck 70's Plus that Clara just bought.

THE CHUCK 70's PLUS
