Dior Birkenstock - The show has left us in shock stupor

Birkenstock is currently quite hot in the collabo game. Understandably, because the shoes are just insanely comfortable and meanwhile just come mega good on the road. That is why there is hardly a brand that can avoid working with Deutsche Brand. Some may still remember that Supreme received a rejection at the time. Now the prêt-à-porter brand Dior has jumped on the bandwagon. We are certain: The Dior Birkenstock will certainly be the most expensive collab to date.

Rick Owens, Stüssy, Jil Sander, all were allowed to put their hands on our favorite (house) shoes. Now it's Dior's turn, and with good reason. Dior is celebrating its 75th anniversary this year and not only that, on the day the news of the collaboration was shared, Christian Dior was born 117 years earlier. Kim Jones certainly chose the day consciously.

THIS IS WHAT THE SHOES LOOK LIKE

The collection consists of two models that strongly remind us of Birkenstock's classics, the Milano and the Tokio. We're definitely celebrating the Tokyo's more and in fact we're seeing a lot more pictures of the designs too. Maybe it's because of the current mood of the bad weather. The designs just look super cozy. The models usually come in felt and leather. The Dior upgrades turn out even more spectacular. One shoe is embroidered with flowers. The highlight: the metal buckles that Kim Jones designed in collaboration with Matthew Williams and that have been a common thread through the Dior collections for many seasons. Conclusion: We love, love, love the collabo and want nothing more than to rock these bots soon - but can certainly not afford them.

DIOR BIRKENSTOCK RELEASE

We don't currently know when the Dior Birkenstocks will come. Since the shoes were shown at the Fall/Winter 22 show, we may have to wait quite a while.
