Supreme x NBA - Week 3

After our relatively negative comments about tomorrow's Supreme x NBA collab a week ago, the rest of the drop has been clear since the start of this week.

All in all, and it's fair to say this up front, the Supreme x NBA drop is relatively disappointing. We had already sidelined the shoe in advance because they really don't work at all. If the Air Force had at least been low-top and not this ugly mid-top, then it might still have worked. But both colorways are just completely uninteresting for me....easy pass.

The result of the rest of the collaboration is also pretty unspectacular in my eyes. But how could it be otherwise when the design of the shoes is continued on the jersey set and the warm-up jackets? For me, it's all far too excited, far too playful. But above all, far too much 90's Reebok copy!!!!! And that's what someone who has no problem dressing colourfully or conspicuously says.

What I also have to say, however, is that I can definitely see ways of combining the mesh shorts. The classic way, either with a black or white shirt. Add a pair of snazzy Jordans in any color and off you go. The color of the shoes is actually almost irrelevant, because if you think about it carefully, you can actually find almost any color on the shorts.

Overall, however, I continue to believe that the Supreme x NBA collaboration could have gone much further. Especially in terms of the footwear, because Nike, as the pioneer in basketball shoes, could have simply put out something decent. Too bad!

In case there are still people who don't know when the collection will be released, I'll say the following again (one last time!): Thursday, 12:00pm...as usual!
