The next stop from the collaboration with The Basement will be the BSMNT x Nike Air Max 90 Manchester.

BSMNT are back and this time they're taking on the city of warehouses: Manchester. The always rainy city lives by the mantra "work hard, play hard". The latest design pays tribute to the artists, musicians and rebels who make Manchester legendary to this day.

This AM90 is crafted in two different thicknesses of robust, waterproof corduroy and is always ready for the headstrong weather of the north. For the first time, a jeweled swoosh adorns an AM90. The design is rounded off by a 3M quarter panel that makes you highly visible while paying tribute to the streets and workers around us.

First released in 1990 as the Air Max III, Tinker Hatfield's Air Max 90 was named after the decade that was approaching. Initially celebrated by runners in particular for its larger, visible Air element and fast look, the sneaker later became a cross-cultural icon of the early 2000s. Today, almost three decades after its first release, the Air Max 90 has been given a whole new design by the London-based collective "The Basement".

The Basement, a group of young British creatives, has built a vibrant community online and on the streets that shares their passion for sneaker culture. After a first collaboration on the Nike SB Dunk Low in 2017, The Basement returns and expresses its connection to Glasgow through a special colorway of the Air Max 90.

1987 was the birth year of the Air Max series, which featured a visible Air element for the first time. What began as an experiment in cushioning technology quickly developed into a classic on the track - and on the street. Over the years, the design has been revised many times and equipped with new features, but the tradition has always remained.
