It is certainly a little unusual to use a gas mask as a source of inspiration for a sneaker, but in the case of FOOTPATROL from London, this idea has a special meaning: on the one hand, the gas mask stands as a negative symbol for a time when it was a constant companion of the British population in the fight for survival during the Second World War. On the other hand, however, it is also a reminder of a time when solidarity and comradeship were particularly strong and important. Inspired by this feeling of togetherness that characterizes a group or troop = squad and the symbols associated with this environment, FOOTPATROL has created a shoe that refers to this in many details: on the soft olive color of the suede upper, which is largely perforated, gold-edged tiger stripes in olive on the inside and black tiger stripes on the outside set clear accents. The embossed FOOTPATROL and GEL-LYTE III lettering on the heel cap and the FOOTPATROL abbreviation also shine in gold. The sand-colored leather lining and an insole with leather overlay and FOOTPATROL logo round off the high-quality design of this collaboration, while a patch on the inside of the "hairy" suede tongue refers to the "FOOTPATROL SQUAD" - 11 group members and a leader - "FOOTPATROL GEL-LYTE III" is immortalized in Morse code on the laces.
