The polar bear, one of the largest land predators on our planet, is undoubtedly one of the most endangered animal species in the world. Unfortunately, the habitat of this Arctic inhabitant is literally melting away under its paws. The International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) fears that the current population will shrink by at least 30 percent over the next four decades - as a result of increasing pack ice melting caused by global warming. Marine pollution, intensified shipping, more tourists and the exploration and extraction of oil and gas deposits in the Arctic are also threatening the populations. Since 2006, the polar bear has therefore been listed as "endangered" on the IUCN Red List. (Source: wwf.de)

The Made in Germany model *Polar Bear* handmade by HUMMEL&HUMMEL SCHUHMANUFAKTUR is intended to help bring this well-known grievance to the attention of a society that is often very selective in its perception.

In the wild, the animal's fur shines in the purest white due to the reflection of the ice. In order to reproduce a realistic color scheme on the sneaker that matches the actual fur color of the hunter, beige/white was chosen. The upper of this general release from Münchweiler is made from calf suede, the lining from a combination of mesh and pigskin. The insole has antibacterial and breathable properties and is also able to absorb and release moisture. The "Runaway ROOS 001" model used has the ROOS-obligatory DYNACOIL cushioning unit, which has proven itself with many KangaROOS runners.

If you are really planning to buy the Made in Germany KangaROOS, I think you can be relatively relaxed. The shoe is great and superbly made. Nevertheless, we believe that it is definitely within the realm of possibility to get hold of this sneaker.

Stores confirmed for this release so far include asphaltgold, Overkill, afew, 43einhalb and a few other stores, all of which will have the KangaROOS in their range. The Footshop from the Czech Republic should also be added. However, the information will probably follow before the release.
