KangaROOS x Pit Heroes Pawer

KangROOS launches another collaboration with the KangaROOS x Grubenhelden Pawer! As always, a strong concept!

The old tradition of generating energy from coal is on the decline. This is certainly desirable from an environmental point of view, but every structural change also leaves its mark on society. With the *Pawer*, we want to commemorate those who for years and decades, under considerable hardship, extracted the once irreplaceable raw material from the depths of the earth.

Grubenhelden reuses some worn miners' clothing to produce new textiles, and does so with great success. For example, the upcycled products attracted attention at Fashion Week New York. Production is environmentally friendly and sustainable, making this the ideal partner for the KangaROOS Made in Germany product line.

The *Pawer* has a mint-coloured outsole to symbolize the slippers worn by underground workers. The speckled midsole refers to the coal dust that came off the miners' bodies when they showered. The black leather parts represent the hard work in the mines. The white, so-called "ass leather", comes from the miners' pants, which had to be particularly reinforced in the buttocks area, as a lot of work was done sitting down. This leather is extremely robust.

The lining is made from miners' shirts. Mallets and iron, the symbols of mining par excellence, can be seen embossed on the heel. The typical KangaROOS pocket on the back of the flap contains the lyrics of the miners' song, which was traditionally sung on the way underground. Each box also comes with a piece of coal.

The lacetag with the "1449" symbolizes the year of birth of Georgius Agricola (Georg Bauer, known as "Pawer"). The enclosed key ring made of genuine leather was handcrafted by a former miner who is now in the service of Grubenhelden. The package is rounded off with a mint-coloured sock, also produced by Grubenhelden.

When can I buy the KangaROOS x Grubenhelden Pawer?

The official release date for the KangaROOS is this week, on 21 March 2020 to be precise. It starts at 00:00 in the stores listed here!

Where can I buy the KangaROOS x Grubenhelden Pawer?

If you are really planning to buy the Made in Germany KangaROOS, I think you can be relatively relaxed. The shoe is great and superbly made. Nevertheless, we believe that it is definitely within the realm of possibility to get hold of this sneaker.

Stores confirmed for this release so far include asphaltgold, Overkill, afew, 43einhalb and a few other stores, all of which will have the KangaROOS in their range. The Footshop from the Czech Republic should also be added. However, the information will probably follow before the release.
