The Air Max 1 has been with us for over thirty years now. The shoe looks back on an eventful history and continuous development over the past three decades. The innovative design by Tinker Hatfield from 1987 and its numerous successor models continue to exert a major cultural influence worldwide. And now, in 2020, a brand new City Pack is being released. The pack pays tribute to the two most influential "Air Max" cities of London and Amsterdam with their Air Max 1 DNA.

The Air Max 1 "Amsterdam" is inspired by the city of sins with design elements that are sometimes more, sometimes less obvious. The shoe is made from luxurious, tactile materials such as suede, nubuck and heavily milled leather. The brown and red tones are reminiscent of the brick houses in the city center and cobblestones, which also stand out in the different textures of the material. The green accent in the swoosh comes from the traditional front doors and window frames along the canal. And no Amsterdam design is complete without a map of the canals and the famous XXX crest. They are embroidered on the heel and side inserts.

The return of the Air Max 1 in its original shape was a complete success for Nike and actually just showed the masses how big the fanbase of the model still is.

The official release date of the Nike Air Max 1 is next week, on March 19, 2020 to be precise. The release starts at 09:00 in the stores listed here.
