Comeback of the year? 37 years ago, Tinker Hatfield and Nike introduced the Air Safari and the iconic safari print associated with it. The sneaker was originally released in 1987 and paved the way for a legendary Nike colorway. In 2018, the Air Safari experienced its first re-release, and now there will be a second one. In the meantime, the pattern has adorned some of the most popular silhouettes from Nike as well as Jordan Brand. The reason for the comeback is the Olympic Games, as the safari print is set to play an important role in various Olympic-themed sneakers.
As in 2018, the second re-release also impresses with the faithfully reproduced timeless OG color palette of black, monarch and light iron ore. The safari print, which adorns the toe cap, ankle and heel overlay, is perfectly complemented by the black and orange leather base. The look is rounded off by the usual comfortable rubber outsole.
