Oopsala, what's going on? Overkill with a new Reebok collabo on the Club C? The release year of the legendary Club C 85 is the source of inspiration for the first collaboration between OVERKILL and Reebok Classic. Berlin in 1985 - this not only meant a divided city, but also a spirit of optimism and diversification in the design sector. Referring to memories of the East Berlin of the 80s from its own team, OVERKILL has put a lot of love into the details, starting with the uneven inlays, which take on the pattern mix that was common at the time. Inspired by wallpaper, tablecloth and floor patterns, the typical living room atmosphere is recreated here. The processing of a butter-soft leather upper with its ivory nuances is just as much a reference to the color trends of the mid-80s as the green corduroy from which the tongue is made, and OVERKILL stages the vibe of East Berlin with golden finishes such as the embroidery of the project title "Berlin 1985" in the heel area, or the embossed co-branding on the upper and the woven tongue label. Inspired by the characteristic sector signs that lined the streets during the division of Berlin, labels on the insoles indicate when the "Overkill Sector" is entered or left, while the tonal lace tags made of soft rubber feature the play on words "Bückware". In the former GDR, Bückware stood for strictly limited and barely accessible "hot" goods that were often only traded under the counter.
