Nike Dunk High Lunar New Year - January 2023

Unlike our calendar, the Chinese calendar is based on the lunar and solar calendar. Matching the upcoming festival, Nike has now shown the first pictures for the Nike Dunk High Lunar New Year. If you take a look at the previous years, there is a very good chance that other models will follow soon, which are intended to honor the year of the rabbit.

LOOK OF THE NEW NIKE DUNK HIGH

The new Nike Dunk High Lunar New Year features a white smooth leather base decorated with light grey suede overlays. Matching the light and neutral tones, the Swoosh is also kept in a soft light brown. In contrast to the otherwise subtle look, small details can be found in a lush green. Both the inner lining and the heel strap are given special attention. There is a hidden clue on the tongue of the Dunks, which together with the embroidery on the heel is our absolute highlight. Where else the Nike branding can be found, the note "golden mountain" can be found in Chinese characters. There is a historical context behind this, as Chinese immigrants gave the city of San Francisco this nickname in the 1840s when they wanted to set foot there during the gold rush. The New Year's sneaker is rounded off by a white midsole that ends on an ice-blue rubber sole.
