In 2015, the first Puma Creeper came onto the market. Rihanna posed for the model with Travis Scott at the time, and all subsequent releases sold out very quickly. This led to some media outlets naming the shoe Sneaker of the Year 2016. The silhouette then fell into the background for a while, but some archive silhouettes are currently experiencing a re-release. The hype triggered by the adidas Samba is of course also transferred to other brands such as Puma. The release of the Fenty Puma Avanti was therefore optimally timed, although demand for the shoe was rather reserved.
The new Puma Creepers have been slightly adapted to the zeitgeist and now bear the name Fenty Puma Creeper Phatty. The tongue is thicker and reminiscent of the Campus 00s update. Rihanna describes the new Creeper Phatty by saying, "We took our OG Creeper and made it bigger and badder," while keeping the rest of the silhouette slim. The Phatty's lace eyelets are now metal, as opposed to before when they were simply stamped into the leather. The available colourways are Black, Speed Blue and Lavender Alert. The Lavender Alert Creeper features a purple suede upper and red stripes. The thick sole is made of rubber. The shoes come in a special Fenty box and velvet dust bag, along with a set of white laces.
When can you buy the Fenty Puma Creeper Phatty Lavender Alert?
The Fenty Puma Creeper Phatty Lavender Alert drops on December 1st at 12am. Strangely enough, the Creeper is already listed at HHV for Thursday (November 30th). Unfortunately, we don't know whether it stays that way or is a mistake. Whether the Fenty Puma Creeper hits the ground running again or not will be seen this week.
